Récit

London Titans Wheelchair Basketball Club is 30 years old, we are the largest and most successful Southern England club. Running 6 teams across 3 London venues, in the boroughs of Waltham Forest, Ealing and our home venue Harrow. Our members are 7 - 50 years old and we currently field teams in every division of the National League from Premier to Third, Women’s and Junior League. We have produced over 50 GB players and over 250 players to date. Current GB stars such as Helen Freeman, Gaz Choudary and Simon Brown all began their careers with us, working their way up through the divisions from the development teams.

We are asking you to support us and show your pride for our Premier Division team. In March 2019, we will be sending this team to compete in the IWBF Europe EuroCup. The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation - Europe, strives to keep wheelchair basketball as the most successful and attractive para team sport in Europe. We support their mission to encourage more people to participate and to continue to play wheelchair basketball in order to achieve their full potential. Sport or at least access to sport is something most of us take for granted, for disabled people it is not nearly so accessible, but at London Titans, we believe in the power of sport and its ability to transform life’s, we call this #TitanPride.

London Titans are 1 of only 3 UK teams to qualify and the 2nd highest ranked non-professional team taking part. The IWBF Europe EuroCup is a competition for the best teams in Europe, we get to compete against professional teams and the best players in the world. Our EuroCup campaign starts with the preliminary round in Switzerland at the home venue of the Pilatus Dragons. Taking part enables us to keep producing GB standard players from the club and is a good way to entice high quality players to the club.

Who’s taking part
London Titans feature a number of wheelchair’s leading names and our named team this year are Emmanuel Filson (trains at GB centralised program), Tyler Saunders (former GB international), Ade Adepitan (Paralympian, TV personality), Matt Sealy (Paralympian), Christy Gregan (trains at GB centralised program), Alex Mitton (invited to GB junior training), Stephen Murphy and two of our raising stars Beth Wheeler (trains at GB centralised program) & Abdul Barekzai. Our players are coached by Louise Sugden (Paralympian) and assistant coach Adam McMullen.

What your support will cover
Our donations will go towards covering the costs for our team to focus on winning rather than funding. As a non-professional club and charity meeting these costs is a challenge and is only made possible with your help. The £2,500 needed will go towards the competition entry fee, accommodation, food, plus transport to and from competition venue and the airport. Plus our return flights for everyone and their chairs.

Support London Titans and help them get to the IWBF Europe EuroCup final this year. Our #TitanPride stands for team spirit, passion and success. We believe that wheelchair basketball is the best sport in the world because it pushes people beyond their boundaries to perform at their very best, we need you to show us your pride.
