¡Ayúdame a representar el Ultimate Frisbee!

Hola,
Mi nombre es Juan Manuel Cortés Amariles. Soy jugador y entrenador de Ultimate Frisbee, un deporte que, aunque aún es poco conocido por muchos, tiene el poder de transformar vidas —como transformó la mía.

Este año, tengo el honor de haber sido seleccionado para representar a Colombia en los Juegos Mundiales, el evento más importante de nuestro deporte, que se celebrará en Chengdu, China, del 7 al 17 de agosto de 2025. Es una competencia de categoría mixta, donde solo 14 atletas (7 mujeres y 7 hombres) tienen el privilegio de vestir los colores del país. ¡Y yo soy uno de ellos!

Aunque esta competencia hace parte del ciclo olímpico, el Ultimate aún no recibe suficiente apoyo en Colombia. Por eso, los deportistas debemos asumir los costos: preparación, concentraciones y otros gastos logísticos.

Hoy, te invito a que hagas parte de este gran sueño.
Tu apoyo, por pequeño que parezca, no solo me acerca a cumplir una meta personal, también fortalece el camino de muchos jóvenes que ven en el deporte una oportunidad de vida. Como entrenador en mi País, cada paso que doy como jugador también inspira a mis estudiantes a ser mejores, porque decidí enseñar lo que amo: el deporte, el trabajo en equipo y la pasión de vivir con propósito.

Help Me Represent Colombia at the World Games of Ultimate Frisbee in China!

Hi there,
My name is Juan Manuel Cortés Amariles. I’m a player and coach of Ultimate Frisbee, a sport that, while still unfamiliar to many, has the power to change lives — just like it changed mine.

This year, I have the honor of being selected to represent Colombia at the World Games, the most prestigious event in our sport, taking place in Chengdu, China, from August 7th to 17th, 2025. It's a mixed-gender competition, and only 14 athletes (7 women and 7 men) from the country are chosen to wear the national jersey. I'm proud to be one of them!

Although this tournament is part of the Olympic cycle, Ultimate Frisbee still lacks significant institutional support in Colombia. As a result, we athletes must cover all expenses ourselves — flights, training camps, preparation, and all logistical costs.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you.

But it also goes beyond me — it fuels the dreams of the young athletes I coach, who see in sport a path to purpose and growth. As a coach, every milestone I reach as a player becomes part of what I teach.
